Tatahouine

Tatahouine fell june 27, 1931, 4 kilometers northeast of the city of Foum Tatahouine in Tunisia, now just called Tatahouine. The name means "mouth of the springs". French soldiers from an Infantry Battalion of Africa quickly recovered more than 10 kilograms of fragments from three small craters. The Tatahouine area is known for the below-ground "cave dwellings" of the native Berber population, designed for coolness and protection. Portions of the original Star Wars movie were filmed near there, and the name "Tatooine" was used for Luke Skywalker's home planet.
